(This is a poetry gift written for a 13-year-old boy and
presented by his sister.)
Pushing my way to see you,
“Excuse me,” as I shoved
past,
“I need to see my baby brother!”
And there you were at last!
When you were at that pesky stage
And would follow me
wherever I went,
I wished that I had held your hand
And told you what your
love really meant.
Later going to the movies or going to the beach
And sharing
fortresses in the sand,
We played and laughed – I saw you
As the most
generous in all the land.
You like to skateboard often
Or listen to Lincoln
Park,
And I have things I like to do,
Sometimes when you’re in bed, after
dark.
But you and I have our adventures,
Sharing laughter, getting
rid of strife,
Thank goodness you’ll be my little brother
For the rest of
my whole life.
