(This is an excerpt from an article written in the late 70's for a small circulation newspaper in Colorado. Please note I have duplicated here the editing of the newspaper, not how I would have edited it.)

LIBRARY: IT WAS A SELL OUT

Tickets were handed to Barbara Norton, and crowds of anxious kids waited behind a wire attached to two chairs.

The room was empty except for a felt-covered table in the front of the room and loads of magical paraphernalia: the kingdom of the amazing Mr. C., a young magician there to entertain.

The Evergreen Library was the setting for an afternoon of delight for area youngsters on Friday, Aug. 19. The Amazing Mr. C. Show was sold out well in advance. Children began to litter the floor of the small room, waiting to see first-hand the Merlin-like presence and his feats of conjurement.

As promised, doves appeared from flaming dishes, many feet of crepe paper were pulled from Mr. C's mouth, a rabbit materialized in its own hutch and phonograph records changed color. The children were all giggles and mesmerized by magic, tripped from the room when the show was over into a room across the hall to again be enchanted by a movie, The Sorcerer's Apprentice. ...
